Welcome to this blog!

We are the Honey Badgers. Our motto is "Honey Badger simply don't care!". So we are simply concerned with the best credit card sign up programs, balancing them with decent passive credit card earning programs with category bonuses. For instance, the Chase Freedom card or the Discover IT card are among the best in addition to the Amex Preferred card. For gas rewards, Pentagon Federal Cash Credit Card is the best while sign up bonuses are dominated by the likes of Chase and Amex. At least this has been the story in 2010-2014 period. So we would do this analysis and bring you the best cards in this blog so you would not be stuck with the plethora of options as presented by the other blogs. Just like the real Honey Badger, we want you to hit the ground running and make quick actionable moves. And once you are catapulted into the good programs and processes, it is just a matter of tuning and tweaking them as per your requirement. Many of the links in this site would be updated fairly frequently as I myself refer to them for my regular credit card churning.

The main differentiators of this blog compared to rest of the blogosphere are:

  • This blog focuses on few all around good credit cards rather than listing them all here

  • This blog relies very very less to nil on outside "partners" or affiliates

  • This blog will draw flowcharts which are workflow to follow and reap the rewards. No other blog does this in diagrammatic fashion though many of them might put up pictures of airline websites or Walmart kiosks. This diagrams are unique to this site and though it might be basic to some of you, in the long run, it helps a lot when taking this as close to automation as possible.

  • This blog aims to build apps and tools so that you have to think less and only tweak a bit to customize the cards to your requirement or problem

The end goal of this blog is to go beyond just providing you the latest information or links or few thousand points bonus offers. Those are something that an average interneter is quite proficient in finding while what they lack to scale up or really do it with minimal interference in day-to-day work is the simple tools. Of course, the best way would be to have a robot - human or otherwise - to do this for you. But given that this is an individual level activity, as you have to show your id and credit card etc., it is essentially a security workflow with you doing as much as you are required to in manual fashion and trying to automate or converting the rest to simple processes.

The email subscription is available on the side. Fair warning: You will not see daily articles being published as this is not the intention. I publish under Carpe Diem model - that is I might not publish for a week and research during this time. And then I would just go all out and publish 10 posts over the following two days. So you might see a sudden surge in emails and then silence for quite a while. I think this best helps creativity and separating the "must blog" daily business from actual content driven blogging. Over a period of time, this blog will evolve or link to other personal finance, simplicity, minimalism and frugality related discussions or blogs but for now, we will just keep it simple and to the point. Our main goal here is to maximize credit card spend, rake up bonus points as well as category points along the way, not finding ourselves lost doing that and make the process fun and mentally freeing rather than taxing. With that, this process will eventually become a fun or at least boring routine for you but not something that you "have to do".

Apart from email, there is a twitter link which would get most recent tweets. Though we are there in facebook, we are not too active on that site. Likely we will try to link facebook to our tweets or blogspot. But in the long run, facebook or any other site is not the way to reach us. The contact us and twitter are the best way to reach us in case you have any questions or want to do something similar.
